Former President Trump’s fiery commentary on President Biden’s State of the Union address on Truth Social elicited a one-word response from Biden’s camp: “Sad.”

Former President Donald Trump provided a running commentary mocking President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address tonight on Truth Social.

Despite facing technical difficulties, Trump did not hold back, delivering real-time reactions to Biden’s speech.

In response to Trump’s Truth Social “rapid response” to the State of the Union, which experienced a brief outage, the Biden campaign issued a concise one-word statement: “Sad.” They accompanied this with a screenshot capturing Trump’s Truth Social page buffering.

After Biden’s address, Senator Katie Britt, hailed by Trump as a “fearless America First warrior,” delivered the GOP’s official response. However, her remarks garnered online ridicule and left many puzzled due to their tone and style.

Nevertheless, Trump congratulated Britt on her response, asserting that she provided a “great contrast” to an “angry” president.

Trump provided a point-by-point rebuttal to various topics raised by Biden.

  • Trump’s commentary was punctual and direct, starting with criticism for Biden’s 15-minute delay: “They are really late, very disrespectful to our country!” He also made observations about Congress members like Senators Mitt Romney and Joe Manchin, noting, “
  • Interesting that Romney and Manchin are sitting together, and nobody wants to talk to them. I think they’d make a great No Labels Team!” Additionally, he took a jab at Representative Maxine Waters, saying, “Maxine Waters, very nice woman, even though she’s constantly saying she wants to beat up or kill people on the opposite side of the aisle. If I ever said that, they would call me an Insurrectionist, and all hell would break out!” Regarding Ukraine, he addressed Biden’s call to support Ukraine against Putin.
  • Regarding Ukraine, Trump criticized Biden’s call to support Ukraine against Putin, stating, “Putin only invaded Ukraine because he has no respect for Biden. Would have never happened under the Trump Administration, and for four years it didn’t happen!”
  • In response to Biden’s criticism of his remarks about NATO, Trump clarified, “No, I said NATO has to pay its bills, and if it doesn’t pay its bills, we are not going to protect you. The money came pouring in! Under other Presidents, NATO was broke.”
  • While Biden was advocating for IVF, Trump countered, “IVF was just approved in Alabama, and the Republicans are totally in support of helping women. We are stronger on IVF than the Democrats!”
  • In response to Marjorie Taylor Greene’s scathing attack on President Biden regarding Laken Riley’s case and immigration, Biden discussed his ideas regarding the border bill.
  • Regarding the economy, tax, and unemployment, Biden proposed implementing a 21% tax on wealthy Americans and making schooling and college more affordable to ensure job opportunities in various industries for everyone.
  • Trump criticized Biden’s approach, stating, “Inflation under Biden is killing America!”
  • Amid Trump’s policy critiques, he interjected with personal jabs at Biden, pointing out his cough and demeanor: “Don’t shake people’s hands going out — he keeps coughing into his right hand!” and remarked on his demeanor, saying, “He looks so angry when he’s talking, which is a trait of people who know they are ‘losing it.’ The anger and shouting is not helpful to bringing our Country back together!”
  • He also criticized the media coverage, accusing C-SPAN of bias: “They only show the Democrats clapping! They rarely show the other side of the room — It’s called, the Republican side!”

Trump’s posts also included exclamations like “Trump derangement syndrome!”

In his final State of the Union speech before the Presidential elections, Biden emphasized the stance against China’s unjust economic practices and advocated for peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, while also highlighting the effort to strengthen partnerships with allies in the Pacific region such as India, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and others.

Biden confronts a fundamental contradiction as he promotes economic growth despite widespread public doubt. He underscores the progress made from the depths of 2020’s economic downturn, relying on populist initiatives such as reducing credit card fees and implementing tax hikes for the affluent. He rebukes the media for failing to spotlight the recovery, instead acknowledging the nation’s strides forward.

President Biden delivers a spirited State of the Union address, portraying the year ahead as a clear contrast between his leadership and that of Donald Trump. Despite initial skepticism, he adeptly interacts with Republican legislators and highlights his suitability for a second term. The speech prioritizes contrasting visions for the future over a mere recitation of achievements.

In his critique of former President Donald Trump’s China policy, Biden remarked, “I’ve taken steps to ensure that China cannot access the most cutting-edge American technologies for their weaponry. Frankly, despite his tough rhetoric on China, my predecessor never considered such measures.” Stressing that the U.S. seeks competition rather than confrontation with China, Biden asserted, “We are now better positioned to prevail in the 21st-century competition against China or any other adversary, for that matter.”

As per White House officials, Biden will provide a preview of actions to be included in a proposed fiscal 2025 budget, set to be unveiled next week. The budget aims to trim the federal deficit by $3 trillion over a decade while offering tax cuts for low-income Americans. “I believe in capitalism. Want to make a million, or millions of dollars? That’s fantastic. Just ensure you pay your fair share in taxes,” remarked Biden. Alongside previous proposals to hike the corporate income tax rate to 28% from 21%, he now advocates for boosting the corporate minimum tax rate to “at least 21%.” This tax increase would apply to companies reporting profits surpassing $1 billion, building on measures enacted as part of the 2022 clean energy legislation.
